England to offer free computers for young people from low income families

There are government plans under way to provide £300m investment to ensure that children from jobless and low income families will receive a free computer and free broadband access. The programme will begin in November 2008 with targeted funding available for all local authorities to provide home access for groups such as looked after children and others for whom the authority has special responsibility.
